We support local businesses with their recruitment, retention and skills requirements - while also helping them to make a real difference in their community. Working with our Invest in B&NES colleagues, and with connections to local training and provision, we have provided support for both employer and employee to ensure sustainable success in business.

Beyond supporting creation of bespoke training opportunities and creating progression pathways from provision into real jobs, we can also advise on inclusive recruitment practices and workplace adjustments, and we have supported businesses offer placements and jobs to people who have faced complex barriers and struggled to access work.

Achieve in B&NES works with a diverse range of providers and partners to network, codesign and deliver projects, and support our residents to access their provision. With a constantly evolving economy and ever-changing challenges and skills requirements, we support providers to access funding to deliver services addressing skills gaps in our area.

As well as supporting with funding applications and local integration, we have also worked with our providers to help learners engage, stay on track, and succeed, improving referrals and retention. Working with our employer networks, we focus on supporting progression routes into real job opportunities, whether it be for post-16 or adult learning.

We’re here to work hand-in-hand with other Bath & North East Somerset Council teams to ensure people receive joined-up, person-centred support, and also provide social value wherever possible. We can help embed employment and skills goals into wider plans, and have supported teams to provide unique and targeted interventions for young people, refugees, and other local communities.

If you're supporting people facing challenges such as homelessness, poor mental health, or social isolation, and you are looking to provide employment support as an element of your work, we can help. Through joint working, and our extensive network of partners and providers, we can create the needed wraparound support to tackle barriers to good work, and to address inequalities in our region.

We can support with codesigning or bolting on existing training opportunities/provision, support referrals into skills training, or confidence-building programmes. We also deliver and support a number of community events, workshops and outreach which often encompasses more than employability, understanding that support isn’t one size fits all, and often there are other challenges to address.
